Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Shadow Shaman wins the Shadow Shaman vs Viper matchup: Shadow Shaman beats Viper in 54.28% of 52,617 ranked matches.
Thinking you can stand your ground and manfight as Viper is a common mistake here. The reality is that Shadow Shaman completely controls the engagement from the moment he shows up. An instant Hex from Shaman means Viper can't use Nethertoxin, can't apply his slows, and can't use Viper Strike to fight back. That disable is almost always followed by Shackles, which holds the immobile Viper in place for what feels like an eternity while your team kills him. Even if you get your ultimate off first, it doesn't prevent Shadow Shaman from locking you down right after and letting his cores finish the job.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
