Timbersaw vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Trying to fight as Timbersaw involves casting a constant stream of spells. This plays directly into Silencer's hands, as Arcane Curse will drain Timbersaw's mana pool and health for every spell he uses to move or do damage. A single Last Word can also stop a Timber Chain escape in its tracks, leaving him stranded. Even Timbersaw's main defensive tool, Reactive Armor, does nothing to stop the pure damage from Glaives of Wisdom. Silencer's whole kit seems designed to punish what Timbersaw needs to do to function.

This advantage starts in the lane, where Timbersaw can't trade or farm effectively, and only gets stronger. Mid-game fights are decided by Global Silence, which completely neutralizes Timbersaw's initiation and escape, turning him into a stationary target. He can’t zip in, can't use his Chakram, and can't use Whirling Death. To have any impact, Timbersaw is forced to wait out the silence or hope his team can somehow kill Silencer before the fight even begins, which is a huge demand against a hero who wants to stay in the back.
