Timbersaw vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Wraith King is a losing battle for Timbersaw. While Timbersaw’s abilities are designed to wear down durable heroes, Wraith King’s kit directly defeats this plan. A single Wraithfire Blast is often enough to lock Timbersaw down and prevent him from using Timber Chain to escape. Even if Timbersaw manages to land a full combo, he can't kill a hero with two lives. Reincarnation completely resets the fight, leaving Timbersaw out of mana and position while Wraith King is ready to go again, often with his team there to clean up.

This dynamic forces Timbersaw to fundamentally change his approach to teamfights. He can’t play as the aggressive space-creator he wants to be, because initiating on or near Wraith King is a death sentence. Instead, he has to skirt the edges of the fight, hoping to pick off a support. This cedes control of the frontline to Wraith King, who can confidently walk forward, sustain through any harassment with his lifesteal, and threaten key targets. The longer the game goes, the worse it gets, as Timbersaw has no answer for a farmed right-click carry he can neither kill nor escape from.
