Timbersaw vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Applying Corrosive Haze to Timbersaw makes his entire defensive identity fall apart. Reactive Armor is meant to make him incredibly tough against physical attacks, but Slardar's ultimate directly negates that strength by stripping away his armor. It leaves Timbersaw vulnerable to right-clicks from Slardar and his entire team. This interaction also explains why they perform poorly on the same side; Slardar sets up kills for physical damage dealers, but Timbersaw contributes magical and pure damage that gets no benefit from the armor reduction.

From the laning stage onward, the pressure is constant. Once Slardar gets his ultimate, Timbersaw can't safely show on the map to farm or split push. A Slardar with a Blink Dagger can initiate, stun, and apply his debuff before Timbersaw has a chance to Timber Chain away. Instead of being a durable front-liner who draws out fights, Timbersaw becomes a primary target that can be burst down quickly. His game plan is reduced to avoiding Slardar at all costs, which is a difficult way to have an impact.
