Timbersaw vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Trying to front-line for your team as Timbersaw feels awful against a Slark. The main reason is Dark Pact, which Slark can use to instantly purge the stat-reducing debuff from Whirling Death. This denies Timbersaw's primary way of fighting other durable heroes. At the same time, Slark's Essence Shift steals Timbersaw's strength with every attack, turning his large health pool into a liability that fuels Slark's damage. Even Timber Chain, the go-to escape tool, is easily countered by a well-aimed Pounce, leaving Timbersaw with no way out.

This dynamic makes the mid-game a nightmare for Timbersaw. A farmed Slark will actively hunt him, seeing him not as a threat but as a walking stat-battery. In teamfights, Slark can jump on Timbersaw, quickly build up a huge amount of stolen attributes, and then use that power to tear through the rest of the team. The usual Timbersaw strategy of being an aggressive, hard-to-kill nuisance backfires completely. Timbersaw is forced to play passively and rely entirely on his teammates for lockdown, because he simply cannot create space or survive against an enemy that counters him on so many levels.
