Timbersaw vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Picking Timbersaw into the draft means you are betting the enemy team does not have a good Weaver player. Timbersaw needs to stick on a target to deal his damage, but Weaver's entire kit is built to deny that. Shukuchi allows Weaver to constantly reposition and become untargetable, breaking Timbersaw’s combos and making him waste his spells. Even in the rare case Timbersaw lands everything, Weaver can simply use Time Lapse to undo all the damage and escape, leaving Timbersaw exposed and out of mana.

This dynamic makes the game very difficult for Timbersaw. In the lane, he can’t secure kills or apply real pressure. Later on, he is unable to fulfill his role as a frontline space-creator because he cannot threaten the enemy carry. Weaver is free to attack from the edges of teamfights, kiting Timbersaw and chipping away at his health. The Timbersaw player is forced to rely entirely on his teammates for lockdown, or else he has to ignore Weaver completely, which is often not an option.
