How this matchup plays

Losing control of the map's tempo is a real risk for Tusk's team. Tusk thrives on creating action, using Snowball to initiate fights and find pickoffs. Silencer's Global Silence is a direct and simple answer to that game plan. The moment Tusk commits to a gank, the ultimate can be used, leaving him stranded and vulnerable after his Snowball lands. Even the possibility of this happening can force Tusk to play more cautiously, surrendering early-game pressure. A well-timed Last Word can also punish Tusk's spell-heavy combos, making it difficult for him to get his full burst off before the silence kicks in.

This dynamic creates a game of cat and mouse. An experienced Tusk will often make Silencer the number one target, trying to initiate directly on him to prevent Global Silence from ever being cast. A successful jump with a smoke or from out of vision can often kill Silencer before he can react. Silencer, in turn, has to rely on careful positioning and his team's protection.
