Wraith King vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Committing Focus Fire on a key target is Windranger's whole game plan, but it falls apart against Wraith King. She can unload her entire damage kit, including her ultimate, just to bring down his first life. When he stands back up with Reincarnation, she's left with long cooldowns and very little to contribute. He can often turn the fight right there by landing Wraithfire Blast and letting his skeletons run her down. Her signature single-target burst is completely neutralized by his second life, making her primary job an active liability.

This forces Windranger to play passively all game. She can never confidently initiate on Wraith King and has to hope her team can burn Reincarnation first, which requires perfect coordination. He, on the other hand, plays with much more freedom. Knowing he can survive her initial onslaught lets him walk at her team, force her to use Windrun defensively, and generally zone her out of fights. The pressure is entirely on the Windranger to navigate a difficult situation that Wraith King makes incredibly simple.
