Wraith King vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Wraith King with spells often feels like the right move, but it plays directly into his hands. Zeus is fantastic at erasing a single hero from the fight with his high magic damage. The issue is that Wraith King is designed to absorb this kind of attack and keep going. After Zeus unloads his entire kit to secure a kill, Reincarnation brings Wraith King back to life. This leaves a fragile Zeus with all his major spells on cooldown, facing a very angry opponent who just got a reset.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Zeus to play on the back foot. Wraith King will often build to close the gap, seeking out Zeus in teamfights and forcing him to use his spells defensively. The best Zeus can do is try to stay on the absolute edge of the fight, hoping his team can drain Wraith King's mana or kite him long enough for spells to come back up. It’s a constant threat that limits where Zeus can be and who he can safely target, making it difficult for him to control the fight as he normally would.
