Slardar vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Trying to focus down Spectre often backfires on Slardar. His entire game plan revolves around using Corrosive Haze to isolate and eliminate a key target with heavy physical damage. Against Spectre, this approach is directly punished by Dispersion, which reflects incoming damage back at him and anyone nearby. The more Slardar commits to the burst, the more his own team suffers, turning a would-be pick-off into a painful trade.

Slardar has a crucial timing window in the mid-game to press his advantage. He needs to actively hunt and force objectives before Spectre acquires her key items. For her part, Spectre can farm safely and use Haunt to join fights selectively, often targeting the back lines and avoiding a direct confrontation. If Spectre successfully draws the game out, her survivability increases to a point where Slardar can no longer reliably bring her down.
