Slardar vs Templar Assassin

How this matchup plays

Getting caught out by a Slardar is often a death sentence for Templar Assassin. Her entire defensive toolkit crumbles against his abilities. Corrosive Haze completely negates Meld's invisibility, leaving her exposed, and its massive armor reduction makes her incredibly fragile. Even Refraction offers little protection, as a quick Slithereen Crush followed by a few fast attacks will strip the charges. Slardar is perfectly equipped to find and eliminate this exact kind of elusive, high-armor hero by systematically disabling all of her escape and survival mechanics.

This dynamic forces Templar Assassin to play a completely different game. She can't split push safely or look for solo pickoffs once Slardar has a Blink Dagger, because he will actively hunt her. Her main recourse is to stay grouped with her team and hope for a save, or to build items that might let her survive his initial jump. Slardar, meanwhile, can simplify his game plan: find TA, press his ultimate, and often win the ensuing teamfight by removing their core damage dealer from the picture almost instantly.
