Slardar vs Terrorblade

How this matchup plays

Picking Slardar into a Terrorblade is a direct challenge to the hero's core strength. Slardar’s Corrosive Haze is one of the game's best tools for handling heroes with immense armor from high Agility, making Terrorblade seem like a natural target. The plan is always to get on top of him and burst him down with physical damage. Terrorblade, however, has powerful answers. Metamorphosis lets him fight from a distance, making it difficult for a melee Slardar to connect. If Slardar does manage to close the gap and commit, a well-timed Sunder can instantly reverse the health totals, turning a successful gank into a disaster.

The matchup often hinges on key timings and who gets the jump. Slardar wants to hit his Blink Dagger timing and immediately start hunting, using Crush to lock Terrorblade down before Sunder is an option. Terrorblade plays a more patient game, farming with illusions and staying near his team for protection. He knows Slardar has to expose himself to make a play. A fight is decided by whether Slardar and his team can burst Terrorblade during the stun duration, or if Terrorblade can survive the initial assault and turn the engagement with his ultimate and ranged damage.
