Slardar vs Tinker

How this matchup plays

Trying to play from the back lines as Tinker becomes a nightmare once Slardar arrives. Corrosive Haze is the core of the problem, providing vision that completely neutralizes Tinker's ability to juke into trees or break line of sight to escape. Once marked, he's an easy target for the entire enemy team. Slardar can close the initial gap with a Blink Dagger and then use Guardian Sprint to stay on top of him, while Slithereen Crush and his bash make it impossible for Tinker to channel a Town Portal Scroll or Rearm to get away.

This matchup dictates the entire pace of the mid-game. Once Slardar gets his Blink Dagger, Tinker is no longer safe anywhere on the map and is forced to play from his base, which severely limits his impact. Slardar can effectively hunt and remove Tinker from every fight before it even begins. To survive, Tinker needs his team to play defensively around him, but this cedes map control and makes it difficult to contest objectives against a Slardar who can initiate at will.
