Slardar vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Corrosive Haze can feel awkward for Tusk. His game is about controlling fights with quick initiations and saves, but Slardar's ultimate puts a target on his back that he can't easily shake. Even if Tusk uses Snowball to get away, the vision from Haze means the enemy team sees exactly where he's going, making it much harder to juke or hide. The armor reduction also means that if Slardar or his allies can land a few hits, Tusk's health will drop surprisingly fast for a strength hero, forcing him to be more cautious.

This pressure tends to build as the game goes on. In the early game, Tusk can often hold his own, but once Slardar has his ultimate and a way to close the gap, Tusk has to be very careful about his positioning. A good Tusk player will try to initiate on targets away from Slardar or wait until Corrosive Haze has been used on someone else before committing. It puts the burden on Tusk to play around Slardar's cooldowns, which can give Slardar's team a small but consistent initiative in teamfights.
