Slark vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Getting caught out by Slark is often a death sentence for Void Spirit. The main problem is Pounce. A successful Pounce latches on and prevents Void Spirit from using Dissimilate to escape, which is his most reliable defensive tool. While Void Spirit can try to burst Slark down quickly with spells, Dark Pact makes that difficult by letting Slark survive the initial damage. This interaction forces Void Spirit to either commit his ultimate to get away or risk dying without access to his core escape spell.

Early in the game, Void Spirit can often control the lane with his ranged spells and mobility. The dynamic shifts once Slark gets items that let him initiate and hunt. From the mid-game onward, Slark can use Shadow Dance to find an isolated Void Spirit and lock him down with Pounce. This pressures Void Spirit to play much more carefully and stick closer to his teammates, limiting his ability to split the map and make solo plays. It's a constant threat that tilts the matchup, even if a quick Void Spirit can sometimes escape with a well-timed ultimate.
