Slark vs Winter Wyvern

How this matchup plays

Hunting for a solo kill becomes much easier for Slark against a Winter Wyvern. A key part of Wyvern's peel is the long-range slow from Arctic Burn, but Slark can simply use Dark Pact to instantly remove it and stay on his target. This interaction forces Winter Wyvern to rely on her other spells, which are less suited for stopping a slippery hero. Furthermore, Slark can often anticipate and dodge a Winter's Curse by activating Shadow Dance, making him untargetable and negating Wyvern's most powerful teamfight setup if he's the intended target.

This dynamic means Slark often gets to dictate the pace of engagements. While Cold Embrace is an excellent tool for saving a focused ally from Slark's physical damage, it won't stop him from escaping or switching targets. Teamfights can still be won by a well-placed Winter's Curse on one of Slark's teammates, turning his own damage against them. However, Slark’s fundamental ability to shrug off Wyvern's primary kiting tool gives him a consistent, if small, advantage throughout the game.
