Sniper vs Tiny

How this matchup plays

Picking Tiny to close the gap feels like a losing battle against Sniper. Tiny's entire game plan relies on getting into melee range for his Avalanche and Toss combo, but Sniper is built to prevent exactly that. The huge range advantage means Sniper can chip away at Tiny from a screen away. If Tiny tries to walk in, Shrapnel slows him down and Headshot procs can keep him staggered. Even a successful Blink Dagger initiation can be undone by a quick Concussive Grenade from Sniper, resetting the distance and leaving Tiny exposed.

This advantage plays out from the very start of the lane, where Sniper can comfortably deny and harass a melee hero like Tiny. Later on, Tiny is forced to rely on flanking or perfect smoke ganks to have any impact. Meanwhile, the Sniper player can safely siege towers from the backline, daring Tiny to find a way through multiple layers of vision and slows. Tiny needs his team to create a huge distraction or lockdown, whereas Sniper's default positioning naturally negates Tiny's primary threat.
