Picking a backline core like Sniper means worrying about heroes who can close distance instantly. Vengeful Spirit presents exactly that problem. Her entire game plan revolves around repositioning key targets, and Sniper's desire to stay far from the fight makes him a prime candidate for Nether Swap. A successful swap pulls him into the middle of Vengeful Spirit's team, where he's easily focused, often starting with her own Magic Missile. This is the flip side of why they work well together; Nether Swap is one of the best tools for saving a ganked Sniper, but against him, it's his biggest threat.
