Sniper vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Farming the map safely is a challenge for Weaver when Sniper is on the other team. Weaver wants to use Shukuchi to get on top of a target, but Sniper’s extreme range lets him control huge areas from a safe distance. Shrapnel’s slow creates a hazardous zone that Weaver has to either burn his mobility spell to cross or avoid entirely, making his path predictable. Even if he gets close, a stray Headshot can stop his aggression cold. Assassinate also puts a ton of pressure on the Weaver, forcing him to use Time Lapse early or risk getting picked off from across the screen before he can react.

This dynamic often gives Sniper’s team the initiative for taking towers or Roshan. He can apply constant pressure from the backline, forcing Weaver to look for a risky flank. A successful jump from Weaver will almost certainly kill Sniper, who is fragile and has no escape. However, setting up that perfect initiation is difficult when Sniper can control the ground and chip away at Weaver's health from well outside his effective range. The fight often ends up being played on Sniper's terms, which gives him a small but consistent advantage.
