Spectre vs Treant Protector

How this matchup plays

Thinking Living Armor can save a core from a Haunt gank is often a mistake. Spectre's damage from her illusions and from Dispersion isn't the kind of big, single instance that the armor excels at blocking. Instead, the constant small attacks from multiple sources quickly eat through its protective charges, leaving the target exposed. Treant Protector's ultimate, Overgrowth, also struggles here. He can root the real Spectre after she uses Reality, but by then her illusions have already done their work across the map. He can't protect everyone at once from that kind of global pressure.

This leaves teamfights starting on Spectre's terms, regardless of where Treant Protector is positioned. His ability to set up ambushes with Nature's Guise is severely undercut by Haunt revealing his entire team. While Treant is great at keeping one location safe, Spectre makes the whole map the battlefield. The best Treant can do is try to force objectives very early, aiming to build a lead Spectre can't recover from. But if the game goes late, Spectre can isolate and execute any target she wants, and Treant has few tools to stop her from finding them.
