Spectre vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Controlling a single target is Vengeful Spirit's specialty, but this approach falls apart against Spectre. Nether Swap is designed to save an ally or catch an opponent, but Spectre's Haunt makes that irrelevant. She can instantly jump to any fight, bypassing whatever frontline Vengeful Spirit sets up. If Vengeful Spirit swaps to save a core from Haunt, she often leaves another ally isolated and vulnerable to Desolate. Trying to swap Spectre into your team is even worse, as it usually puts her exactly where she wants to be: right on top of your supports.

This dynamic forces Vengeful Spirit's team to play reactively and defensively. A simple gank attempt can be turned around instantly when Spectre haunts in, often killing Vengeful Spirit first. In the late game, Vengeful Spirit becomes a primary target herself, unable to survive the burst from a farmed Spectre. Her team has to stay clumped together to avoid giving Spectre free Desolate damage, which surrenders map control and makes it hard to farm or secure objectives safely.
