Picking a hero like Storm Spirit becomes a huge risk once Techies is on the other team. Storm's game revolves around zipping across the map with Ball Lightning, but Techies punishes exactly that kind of predictable, high-speed movement. A well-timed Blast Off! can silence Storm Spirit the moment he arrives, leaving him stranded and helpless in the middle of the enemy team. Even if he avoids the silence, flying at top speed makes it nearly impossible to spot and dodge Proximity Mines. Techies effectively turns the map into a minefield where Storm's greatest strength—his mobility—becomes his biggest liability.

This dynamic shapes the entire game. The Storm player is forced to play with extreme caution, unable to make the aggressive plays that the hero is known for. Ganking becomes a roll of the dice, and teamfight initiations are often suicide missions without a Black King Bar active.
