Storm Spirit vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by Storm Spirit is less of a death sentence when Warlock is around. Storm wants to isolate one hero and unload, but a timely Fatal Bonds from Warlock complicates that plan. The initial target still takes the full burst, but a portion of that damage gets copied to any of Storm’s nearby allies who are also linked, punishing his team for trying to follow up. If Storm goes on Warlock himself, he has to contend with Chaotic Offering, which provides the instant area-of-effect lockdown needed to pin him down long enough for a counter-kill, even as he tries to zip away.

This matchup often becomes a waiting game. Warlock tries to stay grouped and save his ultimate for Storm Spirit's arrival, while Storm has to patiently probe for an opening or try to bait out the Golem. A well-timed silence or hex on Warlock can let Storm execute his plan, but the threat of Warlock's spells forces Storm to play much more cautiously. It's a solvable problem for a skilled Storm player, but the default state of the teamfight gives a slight edge to Warlock's defensive kit.
