Sven vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a target with Ice Shards and Snowball is Tusk’s specialty, but Sven proves to be a durable opponent. The extra armor and movement speed from Warcry helps Sven and his allies survive the initial burst from Tag Team and Walrus Punch. This forces Tusk to commit more resources than he’d like for a kill. If the gank goes even slightly wrong, Sven can often turn the fight around with a Storm Hammer and his own high damage output. He’s simply not the easy pickoff that Tusk needs to find in order to build a lead for his team.

The matchup revolves around timings. Early on, Tusk is the active one, trying to disrupt Sven's farm and create chaos. Sven’s goal is to survive these attempts and secure his core items. If Tusk can’t create a significant advantage for his team by the mid-game, his window starts to close. Once Sven acquires a Black King Bar, he becomes incredibly difficult for Tusk to control or kill. From that point on, Sven’s superior scaling with God's Strength and Great Cleave allows him to out-farm and out-fight Tusk as the game goes late.
