Templar Assassin vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Picking Templar Assassin into a Viper often means accepting a miserable laning phase. Viper’s entire kit seems designed to ruin her day. Each tick of damage from Poison Attack eats a separate charge of Refraction, meaning a single right-click from Viper can strip away most of her shield and leave her exposed. It’s not about one big hit; it's about the constant, corrosive damage that melts her primary defensive tool. Nethertoxin compounds this by grounding her, preventing a Blink Dagger escape, and reducing her magic resistance, making his poison even more potent. She simply cannot trade effectively.

This disadvantage starting from the lane makes the rest of the game a struggle. A farmed Viper can lock Templar Assassin down from a huge distance with Viper Strike, completely preventing her from blinking in and assassinating a support. Her entire playstyle of quick, explosive kills is nullified by his persistent slows and damage over time. TA is forced to play on the back foot, relying on smoke ganks with her team to find kills away from Viper. If he finds her first, however, she is almost always dead without immediate outside help.
