Templar Assassin vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Fatal Bonds completely dismantles Templar Assassin's survivability. Each instance of shared damage from the bond removes a charge of Refraction, so her shield gets shredded instantly whether she's attacking a bonded target or being hit herself. Warlock's Shadow Word has the same effect, stripping away her defensive layer with damage-over-time ticks. This leaves Templar Assassin incredibly fragile and unable to make the aggressive plays she relies on to build a lead. Her core defensive mechanic is almost entirely negated by Warlock's basic spells.

This dynamic defines the matchup from the first few minutes. In teamfights, Templar Assassin can't commit to bursting a target without taking massive return damage from Fatal Bonds. Even if she Blinks in, Warlock can easily lock her down with Upheaval or Chaotic Offering, leaving her exposed while her Refraction melts. TA is forced to play from the edges of the fight, hoping Warlock uses his spells on someone else first. Warlock, on the other hand, can simply play his normal game, knowing his kit naturally counters his opponent's entire game plan.
