Tidehunter vs Tinker

How this matchup plays

Teamfights against a slippery Tinker are defined by his positioning, but Tidehunter has the perfect tool to ruin it. Ravage's massive area of effect makes it incredibly difficult for Tinker to stay on the edge of the fight and use Rearm safely. Even if he blinks to reposition, he's often still caught by the stun. Before the fight even starts, Tidehunter is difficult for Tinker to harass or burst down. Kraken Shell lets him shrug off a lot of the magic damage and debuffs, ensuring he can get into position to initiate without being forced back to the fountain first.

This dynamic forces Tinker to play a much more reactive and careful game. Once Tidehunter has his Blink Dagger, Tinker has to constantly respect the threat of an instant, screen-wide lockdown. He's often forced to buy defensive items earlier than he'd like or play so far back that his impact is reduced. A good Tidehunter will leverage this, using vision and smoke to find angles to catch Tinker off guard. If Ravage connects with Tinker, it usually means a dead hero and a won teamfight, swinging the entire mid-game.
