How this matchup plays

Choosing between these two strength initiators often comes down to what the enemy team is doing. The same abilities that make them feel awkward on the same team give Tusk an edge when they're on opposite sides. Tiny's whole game plan revolves around bursting a single hero with his Avalanche and Toss combo. Tusk can directly answer this plan with Snowball, pulling the targeted ally to safety before Tiny can finish the kill. Ice Shards also create a major problem, either blocking Tiny's approach or trapping him after he commits his spells, leaving him stranded.

This interaction plays out from the first gank to the final teamfight. A defensive Tusk can completely shut down Tiny's attempts to roam and secure kills on vulnerable cores. In mid-game skirmishes, Tiny wants to find a quick pick-off to start a fight, but Tusk is always looking to use Snowball for the save and turn the initiation around. The Tiny player is forced to play more deliberately, trying to bait out the save or catch Tusk himself out of position before going on his real target.
