Tiny vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Picking Tiny into a Venomancer is often a drafter's mistake, as the matchup fundamentally works against what Tiny wants to do. His entire game plan revolves around getting in close to deliver a massive burst of damage with his Avalanche and Toss combo. Venomancer counters this passively with Poison Sting and actively with Venomous Gale, both of which apply heavy slows and damage over time. This makes it incredibly punishing for Tiny to even close the distance for an initiation. Even if Tiny succeeds in killing Veno, a posthumous Poison Nova can easily mean the resulting teamfight is already lost.

This creates a difficult game at all stages. During the laning phase, Tiny struggles to approach the creep wave against Venomancer's constant harass. Later on, when Tiny would normally be looking for pickoffs with a Blink Dagger, Veno's Plague Wards provide vision that can spoil his attempts. To have an impact, Tiny has to find a perfect initiation that deletes a key target instantly. Venomancer, on the other hand, is content to play a slower game, forcing Tiny to fight through a minefield of wards and slows that drain his health and make him easy to kite.
