Treant Protector vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a single hero with Focus Fire is Windranger's main game plan, but Treant Protector has the perfect tools to stop it. The biggest issue for her is Overgrowth. It roots her through spell immunity, often completely wasting her ultimate as she's stuck watching the fight happen. On top of that, a well-timed Living Armor on her target can soak up enough damage to prevent the quick kill she needs, buying time for a counter-attack. This fundamental disruption to her core function gives Treant the edge.

This matchup forces Windranger to play carefully. She has to be aware of where Treant Protector is and whether Overgrowth is available before committing to a fight. She can still find success by picking off isolated heroes or by baiting out his ultimate. Even if caught, Windrun's evasion can sometimes keep her alive long enough to escape. Treant's goal is to shadow his vulnerable teammates, staying ready to punish the moment she reveals herself. It’s a battle of patience and positioning.
