Troll Warlord vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by Troll Warlord is a nightmare scenario for Weaver. A single bash from Troll's melee attacks is often all it takes to prevent Weaver from using Time Lapse to escape. Without that reset, he goes down almost instantly. Troll’s ultimate allows him to stick to a target and attack with incredible speed, giving him plenty of opportunities to land that crucial stun. Even if Weaver uses Shukuchi to try and get away, the slow from Whirling Axes makes it difficult for him to create enough distance before Troll closes the gap again.

This forces Weaver to play a very cautious game. He can harass from a distance early on, but once Troll Warlord gets his key items and ultimate, the map becomes much smaller for Weaver. He can’t afford to show in a lane alone or risk getting picked off. In teamfights, Troll has a simple and effective game plan: find Weaver and lock him down. Weaver has to rely on perfect positioning and his team peeling for him, which is a tall order against a hero built to run down and isolate one target.
