Tusk vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Getting rolled on by a Snowball as Warlock is a familiar, uncomfortable feeling. Tusk excels at closing the gap and isolating a single hero for a quick kill with Walrus Punch. The problem for Tusk is that his initiation puts him and his allies in a perfect clump, exactly where Warlock wants them. If Warlock survives the initial impact, he can land a massive Fatal Bonds and Chaotic Offering, completely turning the fight around. The entire engagement becomes a test of reaction speed: can Tusk's team kill Warlock before he gets his spells off?

This dynamic defines the matchup at all stages of the game. Early on, a Tusk rotation can catch a solo Warlock and secure a kill. Later, teamfights hinge on this same interaction. Tusk will constantly look for an angle to jump and burst Warlock down, using Ice Shards to trap him or cut off support. Warlock, in turn, will position himself defensively, waiting for the Snowball to come in so he can punish the commitment with his Golem and Upheaval. The fight is often decided in the split second that Tusk arrives.
