How this matchup plays

Committing Walrus PUNCH on a Weaver is a huge gamble. Tusk brings a ton of upfront burst with his combo, but Weaver's Time Lapse is a perfect answer, resetting all the damage and repositioning him to safety. A good Tusk has to bait the ultimate out first or have immediate follow-up from a teammate. On the other hand, a well-placed Ice Shards can trap Weaver completely, leaving him vulnerable even if he has Shukuchi available. This interaction forces a game of chicken where neither hero wants to use their key spell first.

This dynamic defines the matchup at all stages. Tusk wants to roam and set a fast tempo with Snowball ganks, and a kill on Weaver is a top priority. Weaver’s job is to survive these attempts, using his mobility to split the map and out-farm his opponents. The fight often comes down to who gets the jump. If Tusk initiates on Weaver when Time Lapse is on cooldown, it's a free kill. If Weaver successfully baits Tusk's spells and escapes, Tusk is left out of position with nothing to show for it.
