Undying vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Picking Void Spirit into an Undying draft means you have to constantly manage the length of your engagements. Undying thrives in drawn-out brawls where Decay can stack up and Tombstone can overwhelm the area with zombies. This is the opposite of what Void Spirit wants; he prefers to get in, deal his burst damage, and get out. The zombies are particularly annoying, as they can quickly chew through the shield from Resonant Pulse, leaving him exposed when he expects to be safe. It’s a direct clash of tempos.

The result is a game of cat and mouse. Void Spirit has to use his mobility to play the edges of teamfights, looking for an opportunity to eliminate a key target and Dissimilate away before the full force of Undying’s pressure comes down. If Undying can successfully drop a Tombstone and force Void Spirit to commit to fighting inside its radius, the slippery spirit often gets bogged down and killed. Success usually depends on which hero's team is better at controlling space and enabling their respective game plans.
