Undying vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Lining up a Focus Fire on Undying often feels like a trap. Windranger wants to delete a single target, but Undying's entire kit is built to counter that approach. A single Tombstone spawns more units than she can handle, and her physical evasion from Windrun doesn't protect her from the zombie swarm. While she's trying to deal with the chaos, Undying is constantly draining her strength with Decay. This makes her much easier to kill and makes his whole team harder to bring down, completely reversing the pressure she wants to apply.

This dynamic starts in the lane, where Undying can easily bully Windranger and zone her out. Later, during teamfights, his goal is to drop Tombstone and Flesh Golem right in the middle of her team. This forces Windranger to either abandon her position or get overrun by zombies and slowed to a crawl. Her best bet is to find a pickoff on a lone hero, but Undying is almost always grouped with his team, ready to punish any initiation. She's often left unable to contribute meaningful damage before being forced to retreat or dying.
