Venomancer vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Getting chipped away by Venomancer's poisons is less threatening when Warlock is on the other team. Shadow Word provides powerful healing that can often negate the constant damage over time, making it much harder for Venomancer to secure kills through attrition. Warlock's own spells also punish the kind of grouped positioning Veno's team might use to push with Plague Wards. Fatal Bonds in particular can turn a coordinated push into a liability, spreading any focus fire back onto multiple heroes and making it dangerous to stand together.

During big teamfights, the game often becomes a race of ultimates. Venomancer wants to apply Poison Nova and have his team kite and survive. Warlock can counter this by forcing a decisive engagement with Chaotic Offering. The initial stun locks down Veno's team, allowing for immediate burst damage on key targets before the poison does its work. Afterward, the Golems are a major threat that can't be easily ignored, chasing down low-health heroes. Venomancer's success then relies on trying to catch Warlock's team off-guard or already split up, avoiding the big reset Warlock brings.
