Void Spirit vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Trying to jump on a support in a teamfight often puts Void Spirit right in the middle of Warlock's ideal setup. Warlock's spells, particularly Fatal Bonds, punish heroes who dive into a clump of enemies. If Void Spirit gets caught, he can end up spreading a lot of damage to his own team. The massive slow from Upheaval also makes it difficult for him to stick to a target or retreat easily. However, Void Spirit has the tools to play around this. With good timing, Dissimilate can dodge the stun from Chaotic Offering, and Astral Step can get him out of Upheaval's radius.

The whole matchup comes down to who gets the jump on whom. If Warlock anticipates the initiation, he can drop his Golem and create a huge zone of control that makes Void Spirit's life miserable. But if Void Spirit finds Warlock out of position or with his ultimate on cooldown, the kill is almost guaranteed. Both heroes are looking to punish the other's aggression, leading to a standoff where the fight can swing based on a single spell's timing. Neither hero has a clear, consistent advantage over the other.
