Abaddon + Jakiro

Why this works

Thinking of this as a durable, pokey combination misses what makes each hero strong. Abaddon's Aphotic Shield excels at dispelling stuns and turning aggression back on the enemy, but Jakiro's kit of slows and damage-over-time doesn't bait out the hard lockdown that Abaddon wants to counter. Jakiro wants to control large areas from a safe distance with his spells, while Abaddon needs to be in the middle of the fight, drawing fire and protecting allies. Their preferred fight timings and positions rarely overlap, leading to a fundamental disconnect.

During teamfights, this disjointed approach becomes a real problem. Jakiro can cast Macropyre and Ice Path, but without a stronger setup, enemies can often reposition before taking serious harm. Abaddon might dive a target but find no follow-up lockdown to help him secure the kill. If Abaddon is forced to use Borrowed Time, opponents can easily disengage from Jakiro's slow-moving spells and simply wait for the ultimate to end. The duo creates a lot of area denial but struggles to focus down and eliminate a single, high-priority target.
