Why this works

Keeping a hero like Silencer alive through the mid-game is the main goal here. Abaddon provides strong defensive support with Aphotic Shield, which can absorb initial burst and let Silencer get his spells off. If Silencer gets focused hard, Borrowed Time can turn the fight by healing up the team while the enemy has overcommitted. In return, a well-timed Global Silence creates an opening for Abaddon to run at targets, applying Curse of Avernus without fear of instant retaliation. It’s a straightforward trade of defensive utility for offensive control, allowing both heroes to execute their game plans more safely.

This pairing often feels more like two heroes doing their own jobs than a specific combo. Abaddon wants to be deep in the fight, drawing attention and healing his team, while Silencer prefers to stay far back. Global Silence is a powerful spell, but it helps the whole team equally and doesn't directly amplify Abaddon's own abilities.
