How Alchemist and Bane perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Alchemist and Bane win 45.88% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 5,163 matches.
Setting up a full Unstable Concoction is the main idea here. Bane can use Fiend's Grip to hold a target completely still, giving Alchemist a free, max-duration stun to follow up. This creates a very long lockdown chain on a single hero, which is great for securing pickoffs and making space. Nightmare can also be a reliable save for Alchemist if he gets caught farming a dangerous lane. The issue is that this plan is almost entirely single-target. Against lineups with multiple dangerous cores or strong save heroes, the combo loses its impact. Since Alchemist's main objective is often to out-farm the enemy, this kill-focused synergy doesn't always align with his core strategy.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
