Alchemist + Doom

Why this works

Pairing two of the game's greediest cores together can create a resource problem. Alchemist is entirely dependent on out-farming everyone on the map to hit his powerful item timings. Doom also wants to consume creeps with Devour and secure his own key items to become a durable frontline presence. This leads to a natural conflict over who gets to farm the safest and most lucrative areas of the map. Instead of one hero creating space for the other, they often end up competing for the same camps and lane waves, potentially slowing both of them down.

This dynamic often results in a passive early and mid-game, as both heroes want to avoid fighting until they have their items. An enemy team can exploit this by applying pressure and taking map control, knowing that the duo is reluctant to respond. While catching a key target with Doom's ultimate sets up a guaranteed kill for Alchemist's Unstable Concoction and physical damage, the shared need for gold makes it difficult for the team to establish the momentum needed to get to that stage. The game plan often feels awkward and delayed from the start.
