Alchemist + Luna

Why this works

Giving Luna a free Aghanim's Scepter seems like a straightforward path to victory. The reality is that both heroes are among the fastest farmers and want to occupy the same parts of the map to do it. Alchemist's resource generation and Luna's Moon Glaives mean they are constantly clearing waves and jungle camps. When they're on the same team, they inevitably end up competing for this space, which can slow down the core item progression for one or both of them. This creates a resource strain that puts the entire team on a back foot if they can't coordinate their movements perfectly.

When Alchemist does deliver the Scepter, it provides Luna with a powerful tool for her ultimate. The problem is that the map space Alchemist occupied to farm that gift often comes at the cost of Luna's own item timings. She may have an upgraded ultimate, but she might be missing the Black King Bar or Butterfly she needs to survive long enough to use it effectively. This makes the game a race against the clock, trying to leverage the Scepter's power before the enemy team can punish the split farm and the items Luna had to skip.
