Why this works

Gifting Empower to an Alchemist seems like the perfect way to accelerate his farm, giving him the cleave he needs to clear entire creep waves and jungle camps in seconds. The idea is to turn his already fast gold gain into something truly overwhelming. The catch is that this strategy requires Magnus to invest a lot of his time and attention into one hero. He often has to follow Alchemist around the map, reapplying the buff and sacrificing his own farm and lane presence to enable this one specific plan, which makes the team's overall strategy very predictable.

As the game progresses, the success of this pair depends entirely on whether the enemy team can punish your game plan. If they can't find and kill the Alchemist, he will eventually emerge with an overwhelming item advantage. More often, though, opponents will group up and force fights or smoke gank the super-farmed carry, knowing he is the single key to victory. This puts immense pressure on the rest of the team to defend one hero. If Magnus falls behind from enabling the combo, he lacks the items to be a real threat beyond a single Reverse Polarity.
