Why this works

Trapping enemies in Arena of Blood for a Chemical Raged Alchemist is a common trap. The reality is that Alchemist is a melee hero who must get inside the arena to fight, clumping him with enemies who can then turn and burst him down. Mars's ultimate is far more effective when paired with heroes who can attack from a safe distance outside the wall. Both heroes also require significant farm to be effective, so they often end up competing for resources across the map and slowing each other's key item timings.

This dynamic typically leads to an awkward game plan. Mars attempts to make space, but the team can struggle to follow up on his initiations if Alchemist is still farming. By the time Alchemist is ready to fight with his item advantage, the enemy may have already built a substantial lead. Mars can find himself under-farmed and unable to function as a durable frontliner, leaving Alchemist to face the full force of the enemy team alone. This coordination problem makes it difficult for them to take control of the game together.
