Alchemist + Rubick

Why this works

Gifting an Aghanim's Scepter to Rubick is the central idea for this duo, but its value is entirely dependent on the enemy draft. If there's a crucial ultimate with a powerful Scepter upgrade available for Spell Steal, the play can look brilliant. Against lineups without those key spells, however, Alchemist has funneled a huge amount of gold into his support for a marginal gain, significantly delaying his own item progression. The potential is high, but the plan is inconsistent and relies heavily on factors outside your team's control.

The general game flow can also be awkward. Alchemist needs a safe lane to build up Greevil's Greed, and Rubick isn't the best at creating that space independently. He's a reactive hero who follows up on others' initiation, not a lane dominator who can draw pressure by himself. While Telekinesis is a decent setup for Unstable Concoction, it's not a unique interaction. The success of this pair comes down to whether that perfect spell exists for Rubick to steal and if Alchemist can afford the Scepter without crippling his own impact, which is a big ask.
