Anti-Mage + Drow Ranger

Why this works

Drafting both Anti-Mage and Drow Ranger forces a choice between two conflicting game plans. Drow Ranger needs her allies to form a defensive wall she can shoot over, keeping enemies at a distance to maintain her Marksmanship bonus. Anti-Mage provides the opposite. His goal is to Blink past the enemy frontline and onto vulnerable backline heroes, leaving his own team behind. This natural separation means Drow is frequently left without a proper frontliner when a fight starts, making it easy for enemies to close the gap and shut her down.

This tension defines the whole game. The lineup requires a huge amount of farm spread between two cores, delaying the team's ability to fight. Later on, if the team groups to enable Drow, Anti-Mage can't effectively split-push and apply pressure. If Anti-Mage plays his typical evasive game, the rest of his team is forced into four-versus-five engagements where Drow is the primary target. Opponents can exploit this by forcing fights whenever Anti-Mage is visible across the map, knowing Drow won't have the protection she needs to survive.
