Anti-Mage + Ember Spirit

Why this works

Trying to secure farm across the map becomes a problem when both cores want the same thing. Anti-Mage and Ember Spirit are both highly mobile heroes who excel at split-pushing and farming dangerous lanes once they have a few items. When they're on the same team, they often end up competing for the safest and most profitable areas of the map. This can lead to one hero falling behind or being forced into risky positions. The draft also becomes extremely greedy, as the team lacks a strong early-game presence to secure map control while these two heroes scale up.

This dynamic puts a lot of pressure on the rest of the team. During the mid-game, you have two heroes who want to play on the edges of fights and clean up, but neither provides reliable lockdown or a strong frontline. An Ember Spirit can't hold enemies in place for Anti-Mage to hit, and Anti-Mage's Mana Void often works best with a big setup spell that neither hero provides. The team's success hinges entirely on the other three heroes providing all the initiation and control needed to enable these two similar, farm-intensive cores.
