Anti-Mage + Ogre Magi

Why this works

Laning with an Ogre Magi gives Anti-Mage some decent kill threat and a way to escape ganks thanks to Ignite and Fireblast. Later, Bloodlust is a great farming steroid for Anti-Mage, helping him clear camps and waves faster to hit his timings. The core issue is one of tempo. Ogre is at his strongest running around the map forcing fights and creating chaos from the earliest levels. Anti-Mage, on the other hand, wants to avoid fighting and focus entirely on his own farm for a long time. These conflicting game plans mean one hero is often not doing what they do best.

This tension usually creates a weak mid-game. Ogre Magi's early impact can start to fade before Anti-Mage is ready to join teamfights with his core items. If Ogre commits to babysitting, his own potential is wasted. If he roams, Anti-Mage is often left exposed. Opponents will try to group up and pressure the map during this window, taking objectives while your team is waiting for its carry. The lane's success hinges on whether Ogre's early pressure can buy enough time for Anti-Mage to eventually come online and carry.
