Anti-Mage + Viper

Why this works

Expecting Viper's slows to set up kills for Anti-Mage can be a bit of a trap. The core problem is that these two heroes want to play on completely different timelines. Viper is strongest in the mid-game and wants to group up to force fights and take objectives. His whole design is about creating pressure and running at the enemy. Anti-Mage, however, needs to avoid those exact situations. He's focused on farming his key items, splitting the map with Blink, and staying away from his team until he can safely carry a fight.

This timing mismatch means Viper is often creating opportunities his own carry can't or won't use. The team with Viper might be strong for a time, but they're usually playing four-on-five because Anti-Mage is off the map. By the time the carry is farmed and ready to join, Viper's own impact has started to fall off. The game plan feels disjointed because one hero wants to speed things up while the other needs to slow them down, often leaving the team in a difficult spot while they wait.
