Anti-Mage + Windranger

Why this works

Drafting these two together often creates a resource problem from the start. Both Anti-Mage and Windranger tend to be greedy, item-dependent cores. They compete for safe farm across the map rather than enabling one another. Anti-Mage thrives when his team provides reliable, area-of-effect lockdown and a solid frontline. Windranger’s kit, however, centers on single-target damage and a conditional disable with Shackleshot. She offers more of what Anti-Mage already brings—damage—instead of the control and setup he needs to safely enter fights and clean up.

This lineup often feels like a race against time. Your team is vulnerable to early aggression, as neither hero provides strong defensive support. In the mid-game, you can struggle to contest objectives or initiate fights without a durable core to play around. The enemy team can exploit this by forcing the issue before Anti-Mage comes online. For this composition to succeed, Windranger has to land incredible Shackleshots repeatedly, or Anti-Mage must find a way to accelerate his farm far beyond the normal pace, which is not a reliable plan.
